Working in partnership assisting this charity via Surrey Council in helping their clients with the installation of kitchen items so they may have provision to clean clothes and cooking facilities in homes they have just either been offered or existed in.
The Nehemiah Project
Helping this charity which runs and administers hostel accommodation for certain troubled individuals by ensuring their buildings internally and externally are well maintained and repaired so residents are able to live securely and the funds the charity have available are well spent.
Garfield Weston Foundation
The Foundation and in particular Sophia Mason of the Weston family have been long term supporters of our work in assisting elderly and disabled people and individuals with a certain type of liver cancer and whose help has been invaluable.
Confederation of Cooperative Housing
The Confederation and some of its member bodies have been involved in using our services to help improve and repair their tenant properties ensuring the ability to maintain sound housing stock whilst work is overseen and inspected to ensure good quality.
Some referrals from Lambeth Social Services make up our relationship in part with this London borough; elderly and disabled people wishing some work undertaken to their homes and seeking a trustworthy and accountable service in addition to our befriending service designed to ameliorate fraud perpetrated against this vulnerable group of people.
This organisation works like we do helping elderly people define their lives in the best possible way albeit we extend more into ensuring freedom from exploitation and inequality and serious risk of fraud making them people that are able to resist the worst of society in working with our active befriending service.
British Liver Trust
Our project works in supporting the Trust and helps us recruit more volunteers for our Gillian Advocates service designed to act as a long stop in giving good advice on diagnosis and treatments via our handbook and how to fund early interventions and trips to clinics out side the UK.
A service working to ensure elderly people remain at home as long as possible ensuring personal care fits nicely with our Stay Put and Befriending Service which tackles the building and the loneliness aspect of living in a house or flat that requires upkeep and don’t know what to do or where to go for help.
Working with this group who assist vulnerable people regain some confidence and stability in life assisting with repairs and maintenance of their buildings to ensure quality and good workmanship equinox are watchful of budgets in the context of future repairs.
A young artist talented and original the charity are assisting to regain some momentum and status in society for each painting sold or commissioned the charity receive 30% towards our valuable work with elderly and disabled people and people with a certain type of cancer.
A group that helps by bringing organisations together to help in the community with many and varied social needs in order to promote services where people are able to find the best of the best and not worry about being exploited and can feel confident in the services offered to which Thrift Urban Housing aspire.
This charity is marvellous and works with people with mental health issues. This is a subject close to our hearts here at Thrift Urban Housing one of the volunteers has experience of this and understands such needs and we work alongside SRA using their services which in a small way bring them improved cashflow and the ability to transfer that into more practical help for people.
